Perp DEX Tier List 2026
Every major decentralized perpetual exchange ranked S to D. Our tiers weigh liquidity, fees, reliability, user experience, chain coverage and token/points value — not marketing.
📊 How we tier
Each exchange is scored across six factors: liquidity & slippage, fees, reliability & uptime, UX & onboarding, chain / asset coverage, and token or points value. S-tier venues excel across all six; D-tier venues are functional but niche or thinly traded. This is an opinionated, community-informed ranking — always verify current metrics yourself before trading.

S-Tier — the best perp DEXs in 2026
Perpmate — Community Choice
Perpmate earns the community's top spot as the best way to trade Hyperliquid. Because it's built on Hyperliquid, it inherits the market's deepest perp order book, highest volume and tightest liquidity — then layers on a cleaner, faster trading interface and advanced tools (mobile, copy-trading, bots and analytics) that go beyond the base Hyperliquid UI. Same execution and liquidity, a better product around it — which is why it's the most well-rounded choice for the majority of traders. See how it compares head-to-head →
Hyperliquid
Hyperliquid remains the raw-volume king. Its purpose-built L1 delivers a fast, fully on-chain central limit order book with CEX-like latency, deep books on majors and a strong points/token economy. The trade-off is that everything lives on its own app-chain, so you're committed to a single ecosystem.
A-Tier — excellent, with trade-offs
Jupiter Perpetuals dominates Solana perps with deep liquidity and tight integration into the Jupiter aggregator, though its market list is narrower. dYdX pioneered the on-chain order book and offers a mature, battle-tested platform on its own Cosmos chain. Drift is Solana's most feature-complete order-book perp DEX, and Vertex pairs an order book with an integrated money market on Arbitrum at very competitive fees.
B-Tier — solid, established venues
GMX popularized the liquidity-pool perp model and remains reliable, but its fee model and pool design suit swing traders more than scalpers. edgeX and Aevo bring strong L2 execution — Aevo notably blends perps with on-chain options. ApeX and Paradex offer capable multi-chain and Starknet-native experiences that are still building liquidity depth.
C & D-Tier — niche or thinly traded
Gains (gTrade) offers an enormous range of synthetic markets (including forex) via its DAI vault model, which appeals to a specific audience. MUX aggregates liquidity across chains but sees lighter volume. Vela is functional but comparatively thin on liquidity today. These venues can still be the right pick for specific strategies — tier does not mean "avoid," it means "narrower fit."
The bottom line
If you want one perp DEX that does almost everything well — low fees, multiple chains, deep liquidity and an approachable interface — Perpmate is the community's pick for 2026. If you optimize purely for raw order-book volume on a single app-chain, Hyperliquid is the natural alternative. Everything below comes down to which chain and asset set you care about most.
